Top 10 Hybrid Cars

June 3rd, 2010 |

A popular category for Internet searches and purchase, these fuel-efficient cars have come a long way since their inception, now offering more stylish looks, better value for your dollar and with more storage and better interiors than their forebears.

The usual suspects are offered up here on 2010’s top hybrid cars list, each offering a fairly low sticker price and outstanding miles per gallon, city and highway:
1. As usual, the Toyota Prius is the number one selling hybrid. It’s the car that everyone associates with the very word, “hybrid.” It gets 50 miles to the gallon, and runs about $22,500.
2. The Honda Civic Hybrid is a good looking, efficient full-on hybrid car. It gets 42 MPG and goes for about $22,600.
3. The new Honda Insight is affordable, practical and gets great mileage, at 41 MPG. It’s about $19,800.
4. Ford’s Fusion is a full size sedan that gets a wopping 41 MPG/city, 39 MPG/highway. It runs around $27,300.
5. The Mercury Milan Hybrid is similar to the Fusion in that it’s full-sized and has twice the fuel efficiency of the regular Milan. About 39 MPG, it goes for around $27,500.
6. Nissan’s hybrid Altima is a sharp-looking version of the regular Nissan, coming in at 34 MPG, and running around $26,800.
7. The 2010 Lexus HS 250h is the category’s luxury edition, offering 34 MPG at about $34,200.
8. The Toyota Camry Hybrid has outstanding fuel efficiency at around 33 MPG, and is affordable at $26,000.
9. The Ford Escape is the category’s hot SUV, with fuel efficiency and room to grow. Around 32 MPG, costing around $29,000.
10. Ford’s Mercury Mariner is a slightly more upscale version of the Escape Hybrid, with similar numbers: 32 MPG, and $29,800.
The hybrid is a breed of car that’s definitely not going to go out of style any time soon. We’re still a decade or more away from a point when all new car sales will be electric, so a hybrid now will be an investment that will be good for at least the 2010s. With technology improving each year, hybrid cars are only going to become more common on our roads.

Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?
