In some cases, these SUVs are available for around $15,000 – a big departure from its original selling cost of over $40,000.
2. Hyundai Santa Fe – According to Consumers Reports, the Hyundai Santa Fe may be your best bet overall. Its V-4 engine and automatic transmission offer just enough power. With a fuel efficiency of 27 mpg/highway, it is one of the most economical SUVs on the market.  These SUVs are typically available for around $6000
3. Honda Pilot (2008) – This is a fun 2- wheel drive SUV with an automatic Transmission. Relatively fuel efficient, beautifully styled and fun to drive, the Honda Pilot also has the good name Honda behind it!
4. Mitsubishi Outlander (2007) – for about $10,000, this used SUV gets excellent mileage and has an automatic transmission and is beautifully designed.
5. Subaru B9 Tribeca (2006) – This SUV seats 5 and can be typically bought from around $12,000.  With fuel efficiency of 23 mpg/highway, it is as inexpensive to drive as it is fun!

Remember that when purchasing a used SUV, pricing can depend on what is available at that moment. Take your time when shopping around to find the best price available. Other factors such as vehicle condition, dealership fees and mileage can drastically impact the bottom line.
